Remarks: A 1600 SUPER FROM A 1958 SPEEDSTER. I HAVE WRITTEN FOR A CERT OF AUTHENTICITY BUT HAVE YET TO RECEIVE IT. THE MILEAGE READS 46K AND APPEARS CORRECT BUT I HAVE NO WAY TO VERIFY THIS. THE CAR STARTS RUNS STOPS GREAT. WHILE IT WAS IN THE FAMILY IT HAD LESS THAN 2000 MILES PUT ON IT AND WAS ALWAYS KEPT IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED GARAGE. THE CAR JUST HAD A TUNE UP FROM VIC SKIRMANTS WHO SAID IT RAN LIKE A SCALDED DOG,OR WORDS TO THAT EFFECT. MECHANICALLY THE CAR IS GREAT. IT DRIVES SOLID STRAIGHT AND TRUE,HANDLES WELL AND IS TIGHT .THE BRAKES,LINES AND MASTER SLAVE CYLINDERS,PADS ARE ALL NEW .IT APPEARS THE SHOCKS WERE REPLACED BUT VIC SAID THEY ARE TOO SHORT. THE MOTOR WAS REBUILT, I BELIEVE BY VIC ,AND HAS HAD LESS THAN 2000 MILES SINCE THE OVERHAUL. EXHAUST IS NEW . I PUT A PERTRONIX ELECTRONIC MODULE IN THE STEAD OF THE POINTS AS WELL AS THE BOSCH BLUE COIL FOR BETTER RELIABILITY AND EASE OF STARTING. THE MOTOR HAS THE PROPER ZENITH CARBS,AND WHILE IT DOES NOT BURN ANY OIL IT APPARENTLY IS RICH AS IT HAS A BLACK SMOKE WHEN IT IS REVVED. THAT MAY ALSO BE FROM SITTING SO LONG. THE MOTOR HAS VERY GOOD COMPRESSION ALTHOUGH I CANNOT RECALL THE NUMBERS. I WILL HAVE IT TESTED AGAIN IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN THE ACTUAL NUMBERS. BODY WISE THE PAINT IS A VERY NICE DRIVER QUALITY AND THE LINES LOOK GOOD.THE WINDSHIELD IS GOOD AND I DO HAVE THE SIDE WINDOWS. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH IT HAS THE ORIGINAL PANS AND I ONLY SEE SOME SURFACE RUST. IT HAD APPARENTLY BEEN UNDERCOATED SOME TIME AGO AND SOME OF IT HAS FLAKED AWAY. WHILE I SEE NO RUST I DID SEE A CRACK IN THE PAN BEHIND THE PASSENGERS SEAT THAT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN FROM SOMEONE TRYING TO JACK IT FROM THE PAN. I ALSO NOTED THAT THE HOOD HAD BEEN REPAIRED WHERE THE HINGES ATTACH, MOSTY LIKELY FROM SOME IDIOT FORCING THE HOOD DOWN TO CLOSE IT WITHOUT LIFTING IT FIRST. I HAVE INCLUDED PICTURES OF THIS. WHILE THE GAPS ARE DECENT THE DOORS COULD BE ALIGNED BETTER AS THE PASSENGER DOOR AT THE TOP STICKS OUT A BIT.
